Strathcona

Strathcona is a wilderness/outdoors camp located on the shores of Campbell Lake on Vancouver Island. It offers programs for kids, families, and adults alike. I visited Strathcona on a week long trip with my high school a couple years ago, and it was truly one of the best experiences I've had. Food and board is supplied in the price, and you will be treated to healthy, delicios, vegetarian buffet three meals a day, and comfortable dorm rooms. Activities include rock-climbing, tree-climbing, kayaking, rapelling, a high ropes course, hiking, and in our case an overnight canoe trip. You also learn really helpful survival tips like how to build a fire, make shelter, and knot tying. The camp has great access to the beach, and although my group visited in May and the water was still freezing, we all went for a chilly swim followed by a long stay in the sauna. And all of this in a really beautiful location! Strathcona is definitely one of my favourite places in BC, and I can't wait to go back someday.
