Pilot
Pilot
(voiced by Lani Tupu) is a member of a race that have no other name but
Pilots, because their language is incomprehensible to most races. Pilot
is (obviously), the pilot of Moya, and he is physically bonded to
Moya's control cluster, where he must remain until they both die. He is
able to leave Moya for very short periods of time, but only if he
remains in one of Moya's transport pods. Because of their symbiotic
relationship, Pilot and Moya are capable of talking to each other, and
are almost always in agreement concerning decisions. Pilot and Moya
both share a fear of danger, and prefer flight to fighting. Because of
their unique physiology, Pilots are the only race capable of
controlling Leviathans. Though Pilot has complete control of Moya's
systems, he is incapable of defending himself beyond using Moya's
systems to flush the oxygen or breathable chemicals out of the ship.
Pilot is generally jovial, though he can be annoyed by the crew, and he
spends most of his time reading datalogs.
