Falkirk

We went to Falkirk on our sixth full day, the Friday before the Worlds.  My mother, my aunt, and two of the band wives (Donna and Carla) took the trip up to the small town.  I didn't really know much about the town, only that there was a Battle of Falkirk, where Wallace was captured.  Donna, one of the people I was with, had a list of stuff she wanted to do.  Unfortunately, we ran out of time.  We only got to see the Wheel and the outside of Callendar House.  I was so intrigued, however, that I came back the following Sunday, hangover and all, with two of the drummers.  We explored the Roman ruins and other pub-related areas.   I also got to try deep-fried haggis in Falkirk.  I have to say, it was quite enjoyable!

Here's me at Callendar House.  Unfortunately, we got there at closing time, so we never got to go it.  Carla, Donna and I walked around the grounds anyway, and they turned out to be amazing too.

Here's Carla and Donna as we were leaving.  The oak trees were amazing!
