Oban and the Isle of Mull

This was my favourite part of our trip.  I really wanted to see a scotch distillery.  Of course, I would have settled for any distillery.  When I found out that we could go to the Oban one, though, I was really excited.  See, Oban scotch is my scotch.   Scotch drinkers are quite particular about the scotches they drink, so this was a HUGE treat for me.  In total, ten of us took the three hour train ride from Glasgow to the coastal town of Oban.  Because it was such a long trip, we naturally had to stay overnight, so we stayed in some B&Bs.  It was great.  On our first day, we stayed in Oban, on the second, we went to the Isle of Mull.

This was just one of the many spectacular pieces of scenery we got to see on our three hour train ride.  This is the famous Loch Lomond.
