According to the British Columbia College of Teachers' Standards for the Education, Competence and Professional Conduct of Educators in British Columbia, a professional educator adheres to eight standards. One standard is categorized under the heading of "Capacity to Teach" and includes the teacher's ability to plan, instruct, assess, evaluate, and report.
