Pennington's Dance / Russell... 11

"Why don't you want to marry him Nana?" Asked Carly as they walked the half a block home.
"Oh he doesn't mean what he says. He's just a bit lonely that's all. He doesn't know what he's talking about. I'll never marry again. Sure why would I want to? One' man's enough. More than enough sometimes." Said Nora.
Carly and Nora had always enjoyed each other. They had gotten to know each other on the various trips Carly's family made back to England and through Nora's trips to Boston over the years. It was Nora that taught Carly how to knit and crochet and it was Carly's bed Nora slept in when she visited. Often Nora invited Carly to share the bed with her, and as they lay there Nora would tell Carly stories about her life. Carly never tired of hearing her Nana's life stories and when Nora returned home, Carly kept in touch with her through letters. Nora never failed to respond to Carly's letters, although more often than not, Carly's mother had to decipher Nora's writing for Carly.
