it look like she had to concentrate on what messages she had come for that day. Mr. Pennington wasn't fooled though. He knew what Nora would buy most days, and could have made up her package before she got there, only he liked her to delay there and spend time in his shop.
"Nana, Mr. Pennington fancies you, you know." Nora's granddaughter, Carly said as she and Nora walked home from Pennington's shop one day.
"Oh don't mind him Carly, he doesn't know what's good for him." Answered Nora.
"How long ago did his wife die?' asked Carly.
"Last July only." Said Nora.
"Well that's sure not much time. Why is he already looking for another wife?" asked Carly.
Carly was Nora's eldest granddaughter and she had come over to England from Boston to live with her grandmother for a year. "I'm looking for adventure." The 16-year-old had told her parents.
