    Aquatic Personal Training

    Get ‘one-on-one’ aquatic personal training with Jennifer McGregor. Add a new angle to your workout program using the natural resistance of the water. Jennifer will set up a program designed specifically to help you reach your fitness and therapy goals. Jenn specializes in designing programs for people with cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, Parkinson’s, MS, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, functional and age related problems, motor vehicle accidents and concerns with back, hip, knees, shoulders and ankles.     Swim Programs for Those with Special Needs

    Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre offers one-on-one swim instruction and activities to those with special needs. Call us at 250-992-8200 for further information or to book your lessons.

     

    Custom Designed Programs

    Problems fitting into the regular swimming lesson schedule? Contact us at 250-992-8200. A program can be arranged for you with the times and days of your choice for 3 or more participants.

     

    Private and Semi-private Swimming Lessons

    If ‘one-on-one’ instruction suits your needs, call or drop by the Quesnel Arts & Recreation Centre to fill out a private lesson request form. We will schedule your private lessons with  times, dates and  instructor you prefer whenever possible.

    Private

    $19 per 30 minute lesson ($23.75 non-resident)

    Semi-private

    $13/person per 30 minute lesson ($16.25 non-resident)

     

     

    FOR YOUTH

     

    JUNIOR JUMPERS

    This fun program is designed for 5-7 year olds who would like to learn basic spring board diving techniques. Participants must be able to swim 5m without stopping and be comfortable in the deep end of the main pool.

    LEARN TO DIVE

    The goal of this program is to introduce youth aged 8-12years to the skills of spring board

    diving and educate them to dive in a correct and safe manner. Skills will follow a progression and will include games and fun activities.

    HOME SCHOOL LESSONS

    This once a week program is ideal for home school students. Participants will work towards their Red Cross badges.

    SUppLIEd AIR SNORkELLING FOR YOUTH

    This program allows youth aged 5-12 years to develop fundamental scuba skills. The program is offered in 3 levels: emerald star for beginners who have not taken this program before, ruby star for those who have completed Emerald Star and Discovery scuba for those youth who have completed Ruby Star and want to expand their scuba experience. A parent must attend in the classroom for the first 30 minutes of the Discovery Scuba course with their child.

    AdULT LEARN TO SWIM pROGRAM

    Learn to enjoy yourself in the water! This class is designed to develop comfort in the water with basic floating, movement and breathing skills. Once floating, participants will work on developing several swimming strokes and work towards increased endurance and skill. Talk to the instructor on the first day to discuss your swimming goals.

    MASTERS SWIMMING

    Join other adults who are eager to increase and maintain their fitness levels while improving their swimming skills and endurance. Work outs are designed by our experienced coach to help you reach your goals. All swimming levels are welcome and the coach will design workouts to suit a variety of abilities.

    FITNESS

     

    AQUALITE

    (formerly Range of Motion)This class is low impact and is designed for all ages to improve muscle tone and the range of motion of limbs. Those with arthritis and other medical conditions will find Aqualite extremely benefi cial.

     

    DEEP WATER RUNNING

    Get the same benefit as running on dry land without the stress on your body! This no impact program will include a warm up, a series of running and skiing movements to get your heart rate up, followed by stretching and a cool down. Floatation belts are provided.

     

    AQUAFIT CLASSES

    This energizing course starts out with a warm up followed by a great cardio workout and ending with stretching and a cool down. A great way to stay fit and enjoy the refreshing water!

     

    AQUATIC BOOT CAMP

    This dynamic water workout features shallow and deep water cardio moves along with a fast paced circuit style class. Participants need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim 25m (1 pool length) without stopping. If you are looking for a challenge in your workout routine, this is it!

     

    BABY & ME AQUAFIT

    Enjoy the water with your little one and get a great workout at the same time! This is a great fitness class and you don’t have to worry about daycare! With your child in a floatation device, you will enjoy a series of cardio exercises that put the floatation device to good use! This class is recommended for parents with a child aged 6-18 months. A great way to meet other parents!
