Oban

This small coastal town is nestled in the mountains on the west coast of Scotland.  The Inner Hebrides islands lie off its coast.

A view of the town of Oban and its harbor, taken from the McCaig monument.

The inside of McCaig's monument.  It was built in the late 19th century by a McCaig in honour of his family.  Unfortunately, he died before finishing it, so it remains uncompleted.

Here's a picture of me in front of my favourite place in Scotland.  The Oban distillery is the second smallest in the country, bigger only than the Isle of Jura distillery, located in the Inner Hebrides.  Coincidentally, I got to try some scotch from this distillery too, as the pipe band won a bottle of it.

This picture is dark, as it was sunset when it was taken.  It show's our group (minus the photographer) who took the trip to Oban.  This was taken just after we visited McTavish's Kitchen.

I took this picture from the ferry on the way to the Isle of Mull.  In it, you can get a better scope of McCaig's Monument.  You can also see the Oban distillery and the shop with the green awning had some of the best ice cream I ever tasted.  I remember the flavour was lemon merengue, and it had big chunks of merengue in it.
