Interests
Our RNA
Cancer Research Group focuses on
understanding the post-transcriptional
regulation of mammalian gene expression,
particularly on how the mechanisms are
deregulated in cancer
cells. We are specifically interested in
identifying and studying a poorly understood
group of mammalian enzymes called endoribonucleases
which are involved in the biogenesis of messenger RNAs
(mRNAs), microRNAs, and other small non-coding
RNAs. We anticipated that a better
understanding of the biological functions
and properties of these enzymes will lead to
the development of novel molecular
approaches for the treatment of human
cancers and other human diseases.
