MALES VS. FEMALES

Females and Males differ greatly anatomically.

A major distinction between females are males is dorsal saddle patterns

Adult males are distinguished by a fully coloured white saddle, while young, juvenile males only have part of their white saddles. These saddles that are 'coming in' on juvenile whales are a lot like the beginings of a beard on a teenage boy.

Females have distinct 'finger-like' patches of saddle, and also have smaller dorsal fins in general.

Female and Male Orcas also differ in the genital department...

Females obviously have all the correct accoutrements for concieving, bearing, birthing and nurturing a calf.

Calves are born live into the ocean, and are shown how to take their first breath by their mother.
