If you know what video games are, congratulations! You don't have to be here! If you are a government agent, I assure you that I am not developing any nuclear weapons and that you'll never take me alive. If you are neither of these, well, I guess this is the section for you.
A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. They are available in many different forms, ranging from personal computers to gaming consoles that hook up to television sets to handheld devices. Video games are a multi-billion dollar industry that continues to grow and expand, and they keep attracting more and more people. Once viewed as a niche product for adolescent males, it is now a commonplace concept that is on-par with television shows and movies. Unsurprisingly, as the concept of the video game continues to grow and our technology improves, so, do the boundaries of what is a video game breaks down. Obviously, I cannot bestow upon you the full scope of video games with just these simple words. Honestly, would you be able to tell someone the full scope of movies, of their full history and their peculiarities? If you said yes, I hate you. Go away, you smug elitist know-it-all. If you said no, however, then you can see my message about how a more appropriate and telling description of video games might not be limited to just a paragraph or two. As it stands, I will try to convey the meaning of video games to me, as an individual, throughout the rest of this site. This is a very basic definition of video game, but I think it is enough. If not, please visit Wikipedia's wonderful article on video games.
