THE CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The
CFL was started in 1909 and is the second most watched sport in Canada,
next only to the NHL. The league contains eight teams in two
conferences. The Western Conference is home to the BC Lions, the
Edmonton Eskimos, the Calgary Stampeders, and the Saskatchewan
Roughriders. The Eastern Conference consists of the Winnipeg Blue
Bombers, the Hamillton Tiger-Cats, the Toronto Argonauts, and the
Montreal Alouettes. The teams play 18 regular season games when the 6
teams with the best record advancing onto the playoffs to decide the
two teams to play in the championship game for the Grey
Cup.
