Morozin was whispering a translation of Bondarenko's address into Bellamy's ear. Bellamy was impressed both with the eloquence and lucidity of Morozin's summary. After the toast, more champagne was poured, and Mr. Harioto stood up. Bellamy had always spoken to Mr. Harioto in English but now, to his amazement and to the delight of the diners, Mr. Harioto spoke in Russian.
