Boys From The Blackstuff aired on television in the UK in 1982.

It was immediately a success because of the UK's floundering economy and the story was of 4 men who had lost their jobs and were struggling to get by.

Hill played Yosser Hughes and his tag line, which became quite popular was, "Gizza job!  Gizza!"
