CUSTOMS

HINDU CUSTOMS
Bindi The tilak (bindi) is a mark that is applied on the forehead. It signifies that the one who wears it belongs to the Hindu religion.
Cremation Hindus believe in cremating the dead. The ashes must be put in a holy river or sea. If this is not done, Hindus believe that the person's soul will never be set free.
Cows Hindus believe that cows are sacred because they are the sole providers of milk. For this reason, even if Hindus are non-vegetarian, many do not eat beef.

All though there are many Hindu customs, I have listed only a few.

ISLAM CUSTOMS
The Five Pillars:
Shahada Reciting the Muslim profession of faith.
Salat Performing ritual prayers five times a day.
Zakat Providing charity for the poor and needy.
Sawm Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
Hajj Performing a pilgrimage to Mecca (at least once in the lifetime).

According to Islam, the five pillars are the most important customs because the completion of these will result in a good and responsible life.
