Grant Matsuda grew up in East
Vancouver where he played baseball and hockey with passion. He
played for team British Columbia in 1986 and 1987, and when his youth
baseball was over he joined the Vancouver Pharaohs Senior Men's baseball
team, where he toured Taiwan in 1991. In 2000, Grant was recruited
to Australia for a semi-pro men's team as a player/coach. Moreover,
Grant also played in the over 30's World Series in Arizona in 2002.
In terms of education, Grant has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education
from the University of British Columbia (1990), as well as being certified
through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In the
1990's Grant worked in the Anaheim Angels' Baseball organization as a
strength and conditioning coach. He has since relocated to the
Douglas College baseball team where his duties are: strength and
conditioning coordinator, trainer, and infield coach. Grant gave me
a wealth of education in terms of health and wellness, on top of getting
me in shape day in and day out for two straight seasons with Douglas.
