The principal campus of the University of Northern British Columbia is located in Prince George, near the geographic center of British Columbia (latitude: 53°53′00″, longitude: 122°40′00″, elevation 691 m).
The University was created by an act of the British Columbia Legislature in 1990, and first opened the doors of its Prince George campus in 1994.
