Volunteer Experience
Prince George Public
Interest Research Group (1998-1999): Organized various sustainable transportation
workshops and actions in Prince George. I also helped in the office,
took care of computer issues and was the volunteer web master.
Save Our City (1996): Electoral candidate interviewer. I applied
for and was chosen to sit on a non-partisan panel with the goal
of grading candidates based on a specified set of criteria. A report
of our interviews was then published in local media to help voters
cipher through the many candidates running in Vancouver’s
at large electoral system.
Friends of Clayoquot Sound (1993): Volunteered at the 1993 peace
camp and also in the Tofino office where I helped in the creation
of a demographic profile of those arrested during the summer protests.
I attended conflict resolution workshops and acted as a peace keeper
while there. I also spoke to school groups about ecological and
economic issues.
