Aleza Lake Research Forest
The Aleza Lake Research Forest is co-operatively managed by the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and University of British Columbia (UBC) and agency and industry partners, through the non-profit Aleza Lake Research Forest Society. The research forest provides a location for field research and education, and also facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of research and education programs with the user groups.
Ancient Forest/Chun T’oh Wudujut
The watershed of the upper Fraser River has given rise to a unique inland wet-temperate rainforest; a forest ecosystem that combines attributes of both the coastal wet-temperate rainforests of British Columbia and adjacent boreal forests of Alberta and the far north. The Ancient Forest Trail provides an opportunity to view enormous ancient cedar trees within BC's inland rainforest. The trail is an easy-moderate hike marked with interpretative signage, and is home to a beautiful waterfall.
Baja California Field Studies Program
Bahía de los Angeles is famous among scientists, educators and fishermen because of its natural beauty and the incredible diversity of life. This setting provides great opportunities to learn about the natural environment and provides a backdrop for courses offered by the Baja Program at Glendale Community College.
Field Applications in Resource Management
NREM 333 is a two-week field camp course designed to provide students with an overall professional-level integration of forest resource management that draws on the student's collective undergraduate experiences. Field camp provides a setting for students, instructors and resource professionals to discuss, apply and integrate principles from undergraduate course and lab work, field and employment experiences.
John Prince Research Forest
The John Prince Research Forest is unique in North America in that it is the only research forest that is jointly managed by a University and a First Nation community. The purpose of the forest is to promote inter-disciplinary research while providing education and employment opportunities for the local community.
The Natural Resources and Environmental Studies Institute
The NRES Institute is a formal association of UNBC faculty and affiliates that promotes integrative research to address natural resource systems and human uses of the environment, including issues pertinent to northern regions.
Northern Lights Wildlife Society
The Northern Lights Wildlife Society is dedicated to giving injured and/or orphaned wildlife a second chance at survival.
Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Department of Ecology and Natural Resource Management

UNBC Fish and Wildlife Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society
The UNBC Fish and Wildlife Student Chapter is designed to host regular activities, meetings, and field trips to expand members' knowledge of fish and wildlife science and research; Provide opportunities for members to gain field experience in areas of fish and wildlife research and management; Provide members with access to a student mentorship program; Host educational programs and lectures on fish and wildlife issues; and Facilitate member participation in activities and conferences sponsored by other chapters of TWS.
