Avril was born in a small town
called Napanee, Ontario. Being the middle child Avril's love for music
started around the tender age of two. By her early
teens, she was already writing songs and playing guitar. The church choir
and local festivals and county fairs also allowed Lavigne to get her voice
heard, and luckily, Arista Records' main man Antonio "L.A." Reid was
listening. He offered her a deal, and at 16, she took off into the world of
music and fame. Since then Avril has come out with two albums, Let Go
and Under My Skin. Avril wrote a song that was dedicated to her late grandfather, and is one of my favourites because I recently lost my grandmother. If you would like to read the lyrics to "Slipped Away", please click here. |
