Adverbial Time

Lost in... today.
Caught in day to day detail,
lists of have done and to do,
a timeline too short to acomplish everything.
Keep doing, keep going, soon it will be
tomorrow.

Lost in... tomorrow.
Where will that be?
Possibilities, hopes, a plan or two
to make a dream come true.
A dream to aim for,
a path to carve,
the journey is equal to the end.
The getting there will then become
yesterday.

Lost in... yesterday,
the hardest illusion to shake.
The could have been,
should have been.
Sometimes a dream,
often a nightmare,
yesterday is lonely in the hallway
alone
while the party continues on inside.
The lesson of yesterday
lingers, a reminder.
Keep the door open;
don’t leave mad.
Make the most of
today.
