Strange World

Cheri Lewis
Acrylic on panel, McBride Secondary School
Retiring home into bed,
To softly rest your tired head,
Eyes closing,
Body Posing,
A silent thought enters your mind,
A dream, you're escaping and leaving
Reality behind
Images appear
Soon the dream becomes quite distinct,
Quite clear.
Colours, shapes, movements all
Around you.
So overwhelming, this feeling
So refreshing, so new,
Roaming and wandering,
Exploring and pondering.
Tossed into a strange world, but
Also unique and amazing. Left
wondering, aspiring in awe.
But soon your conscious self won't
Remember the fine details you
Once saw.
