Forest Trap

The inspiration for this work was one of my own personal
dreams of being
trapped inside a bizarre jungle environment. The idea of
having my body
coming out of the canvas came from the idea of being trapped
within the
dream itself. The copper vines I painted around the edge
of the painting
represent the parts of my mind that keep me trapped in the
dream. The
other copper parts of the piece were used to make it more
surreal. Since
this project was based on one of my own personal dreams
(or nightmares),
it holds some personal meaning. I thing that the dream itself
could
represent some aspect of my life, or possibly a past situation,
in which I
felt trapped.
