In the past, my writing has been rewarded physically
and emotionally. In the Blackburn Junior Secondary Writing
Contest, I won the first place prize two years consecutively
for my poetry, and the next year I won second place for
my short story. Each of those achievements earned me $50.00
and the respect of my peers.
Writing is always going to be a part of my life, whether
poetry or stories, bus notes for children or care sheets
for my animals. Writing has meaning, and I'm never going
to give it up.
In the future, my life is going to be a jumble of responsibility
for my fiancee (I love you, Kevin), reptiles, cat, and
myself. In all those endeavors, I hope I always continue
to create poems like "One Night Stand," in which
I can let a little of myself and my life show to the world.
