Wall Street Dance.
by Heather Harris

We dance to communicate with the Creator
We dance to be one with the earth
We dance to affirm our history
We dance to be one with each other

I went to New York
To Wall Street
There I saw the white people dance
Dancing quickly and sure-footedly
Over uneven pavement
Swirling gracefully around each other

Their feathers and beads
Were grey wool and white silk
Their medicine bags were briefcases
Their moccasins were shiny black leather
As they danced to attain their goals
In the money dance.
