his breath and pushed his way past the tables towards Morozin.
Misha bent down and started
whispering into Morozin's ear. Morozin uttered an oath in Russian, said
something in Russian to the others. "We have serious trouble," he said
to Bellamy. "There were two or three explosions at the Amur Machine Works,
and now it is all on fire."
"What!?" Bellamy gasped.
"Explosions? You mean someone set off the explosions deliberately? But
who'd do such a thing?"
"The Russian Mafia,"
Vera explained. "Their racket is protection. I am in charge of security
for Morozin's business interests. Thus far we've concentrated on our stocks
inside the railway yard; it is very well guarded over there because that
is the source of our foreign currency.
