Sheila Peters grew up in Powell River, BC. She is a graduate of the Carleton School of Journalism in Ottawa and holds an MA in Humanities from California State University. Since moving to Smithers in 1977, she has worked as a journalist, weaver, human rights activist and English instructor. She is married and has two grown sons.
