I love the interplay
between arts and sciences, especially the life sciences, literature and visual
arts. I have a Bachelor of Science in geology from McMaster University, and
a Master of Science in kinesiology (human biomechanics) from Waterloo University.
I worked in the oil patch in Calgary for three years, and taught a variety of
math and science courses at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Ontario, including
ceramic chemistry for art conservation students, in the nineteen eighties. I
have been teaching biology in Prince George for ten years. I live with three
of my nieces, and our three dogs.
