Cheryl Iwanowski

Cheryl Iwanowski was born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1963. When she was six years old she moved to Malaysia, and spent the rest of her childhood in Kuantan, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. After that she lived in Alberta (Calgary, Westlock, Pincher Creek, Innisfail, and Leduc), and now resides in Prince George with her husband and two children.

"My interest in teapots began when I was a child, fascinated by my grandmothers' fancy English bone china tea sets. Traveling to Japan and Southeast Asia, I realized that 'tea time' had a universal following, complete with its many cultural variations. My teapots represent different aspects of my life. They are playful and functional at the same time, something I find very satisfying. The process of creating each vessel culminates in the tea ceremony itself, whether it is formal or casual, solitary or communal. With each use, the teapot continues its journey."
