Ann Tiffany

Ann came to Canada in 1964 from York, England. She settled in Prince George with her family and has lived here ever since. She was a registered nurse and certified midwife having trained in York, Bristol and Plymouth before coming to Canada. Ann worked at the Prince George Regional Hospital for ten years before becoming a nurse/receptionist in a medical office.

As a single parent, Ann raised three children and is now grandmother to 41/2 grandchildren whom she adores.

Ann loves to use humour in her writing. She firmly believes that laughter is the best medicine for whatever ails you.

Ann has had many articles published both here and in England. A short story, "The Friday Penny" was accepted by CBC radio and read, with great trepidation, by Ann over the airwaves. Another short story was published in the "Writers Bloc Anthology" and she has done several readings of her work locally.

Volunteering has always been important to Ann, she feels that very little would get done if there were not people willing to volunteer. She has taught B.S.E to women through the Cancer Society, worked at the Children's Festival and helps the Prince George Symphony Orchestra with their truck raffle.

Currently Ann is working towards a Bachelor's degree in English at UNBC, is an enthusiastic golfer, sings with Cantata Singers and is a Prince George Booster.
