History of Sub Pop Records!

*Sub Pop was created in 1980 as a cassette fanzine by Bruce Pavitt in Seattle, WA.

*In 1986, Kim Thayil of Soundgarden introduced Bruce to Jonathan Poneman and they created Sub Pop the record label.

*They helped popularize the grunge scene in Seattle and are famous for first signing the bands Nirvana and  Soundgarden.

*Since the early nineties, Brad, Jonathan, and others have signed over 150 bands to the Sub Pop record Label.

*Sub Pop is now 49% owned by Time Warner.
