Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge is a suburb of the urban core Vancouver.  It is part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District and houses 65,000 people.  It is a beautiful town with the Golden Ears Mountains to the North and the Fraser River to the South.  Maple Ridge can be deemed a bedroom community because most of the people that live there work outside of the town.  Sports is very large in Maple Ridge, playing host to competitive hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, football, rugby, and just about any other sport you could ever want to play.  The town has a Junior B Hockey team - The Flames - who are generally competing for the top spot in the Junior League.  It is generally a safe town to grow up in, and as as child I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  There is always ample opportunity for outdoor activities with a surplus of surrounding lakes, rivers and campsites.  Bowling, shopping, a movie theatre, and many other The town itself is growing rapidly and doesn't seem to be slowing down.
