VANCOUVER CANUCKS

BRIEF HISTORY: The Vancouver Canucks, a professional ice hockey team of the national hockey league, is one of the five teams in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference.  The team, originally called the Vancouver Millionaires, joined the NHL in 1970.  Although the club struggled in it's first four seasons, the team enjoyed a successful playoff period from the time period of 1975 to 1994.  1994 is described as the banner year of the Vancouver Canucks franchise and they played in the Stanley Cup final against the New York Rangers, only losing to them in the 7th game by 1 goal in overtime.  It would be several years after the devastating defeat in 1994, before the Canucks would ever see another playoff birth.  It wasn't until the arrival of such star players as Marcus Naslund, Todd Bertuzzi and Dan Cloutier that the Canucks once again returned to the playoffs in the year 2000.  Since then, the Canucks have qualified every year for the playoffs, including this past year where their season was cut short by a goal in overtime in Game 7 against the Calgary Flames, in the first round of the playoffs.

PLAYERS: Despite the fact that the Canucks have never won the Stanley Cup, they boast some of the best and most popular hockey players in the game today.  Their roster, including hockey superstars such as Marcus Naslund, Trevor Linden and Todd Bertuzzi, have helped redefine the face of the Vancouver Canucks.  This page is dedicated to those players that have helped contribute to this new redefined team look.
