PERSONAL: Mattias and his wife Linda have two children, Viktor and Hannah….Lives in Vancouver during the season and spends his summers in Sweden….Devotes a lot of time to working with children’s causes including Canuck Place and Children’s Hospital….Growing up his boyhood idol was all-star defenceman Borje Salming….His greatest hockey moment was winning the Swedish League title in 1995-96, the first time in the club’s history….Favourite television show is “Seinfeld".

LAST SEASON: Set a new career high with 27 assists in only 59 games played... Finished the season with 29 points in a team leading 25:23 (average per game) of ice-time... Suffered a knee injury (feb. 27/02 vs. San Jose) and missed 18 games... Recorded his 27th assist, extending his point streak to four games (1-4-5), Feb. 25/03 vs Atlanta... Set a new season-high for the time on ice, after playing 30:22, Jan. 30/03 vs. Edmonton... Notched his 21st assist of the season and was awarded the 1st star of the game, Jan. 28/03 vs. Minnesota...
