Computational Intelligence Group is led by Dr. Liang Chen.
Dr. Liang Chen is currently Professor of Computer Science, Professor of Interdisciplinary MSc Program, at University of Northern British Columbia , B.C, Canada. Before coming to Canada, he was a chief research scientist at Sunflare Group, Tokyo. He had been staying in Tokuda Lab. of Computer Science Department in Utsunomiya University, Japan, from May 1998 to March 2001, as a joint researcher of Utsunomiya University and Sunflare Company. Prior to this, he had been an Associate Professor at Fudan University, China, where he began as a postdoctor in 1994.
He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Software Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Academia Sinica) in 1994, and his bachelor's degree in Computer Software at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1988.
He is an IEEE Senior Member, a Member of The Association for Computational Linguistics. His biography was included in the 20th & 21st Editions of Who's Who in the World, Marquis.
