The Caledonia Ramblers Hiking Club was formed in 1974 by a group of outdoors recreationists in Prince George.
The Ramblers currently have about 125 members. The principle activities of the Rambler are

- leading several weekend overnight trips from July to September
- leading an annual week-long backpacking trip to an "off the beaten track" area of northern BC
- leading snowshoe trips during the winter months, some along summer trails and some more "exploratory"
- hosting slide shows during the winter months that are open to the public
- trail development and maintenance work
- publication of the Central Interior Trail Guide, now in its 34th year
- participate in various forest, park
and city land use planning initiatives such as the PG LRMP, Kakwa and
Sugarbowl-Grizzly park master plans and PG City Trails Task Force
- through the Prince George Backcountry Recreation Society (PGBRS) and the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) serving as a voice for non-motorized users of the backcountry
