01. What is Breathe?
Breathe is a fictional novel I (Drew Wilson) wrote. The novel itself is meant solely for entertainment purposes only.

02. Where did this idea come from/What is the origin of the idea for this novel?
Breathe was inspired by the copyright debate. One of the central ideas originated from a handful of comments (mostly sarcastic in spirit I'm sure) on Slyck's forums.

03. How long have you been working on this novel?
The earliest document that is saved on my hard drive that indicates work is dated August 30, 2005. I've only made a couple minor attempts since then in 2005 to really improve it. I wrote it for a class project in my Creative Writing class, so it has even got some (very minor) exposure for a few people as well. At the beginning of 2006, I worked on a 2.0 version as per the assignment of completeing the course work. Since that point in time, I've looked it over twice, then did some reading as well as allowed myself to be burried under a bunch of other projects (the biggest being a nes writer for Slyck as well as maintaining a music listing of songs I created/remixed (most of it now is original though ;-) ) I then started a 3.0 version on June 19, 2006, making several major modifications to the overall style of the story (but changing little to the plot I had 'sketched' out at the time) Over the course of May and June, the novel has gained significantly more attention from me as it has gone up the list of priorities quickly. "Breathe" is the first novel I plan on releasing online. Consequently, it's also my recent attempt to go back to my creative roots of novel writing (novels are one of the first things I attempted creating when I created 'intellectual property')

04. This novel is nothing but pro-user propaganda!
Breathe is fictional. I want to make it clear that this novel was not designed to 'prove' or disprove anything. It wasn't meant to push out any 'message' of any kind. While it may have been inspired by certain ideas and ideology that is pro-user, it does not encourage piracy or file-sharing in any way any more then, say, 'Pirates of the Carribean' even though they both star pirates. This is just entertainment created by an independant grass-roots style person who is curious to see where this goes through an open policy.

05. When will the next part be released?
This novel is released in parts instead of chapters. It felt more appropriate to call them parts to me given that I am releasing the novel piece by piece as I write the final drafts. Many things soak up my time including my real life, so I'm left with only some free time that I feel like working on something instead of wasting away time on video games. So it could be days, weeks or months before I release the next part in the story. Even I don't know.

06. Are you done the actual novel and your just doing quality control at this point?
I wish! I've spent a lot of time thinking about a framework of the plot so I know exactly what direction I'm taking this novel. I have a pretty clear idea on it as well as a couple different minor possibilities in case something doesn't fit the plot. This is the style I followed on the final version of one of my previous novels I've written. That novel is unreleased because that was just a practice run for a serious project to determine what works and what doesn't for me. I don't have any plans on releasing it (at least, any time soon that is)

07. Will I get previews befor a new part is released?
It depends. I havn't really worked out a preview system, though I have released a preview of the first part in my blog. If I do release a preview, it'll be posted in my blog.
