2006 Political Debate of Prince George

I'm sorry this isn't very 'bedazzled' or anything, but I have basically threw this up as fast as I could. Due to compression, there's a slight 'snapping' noise in the longer sound files. Also, HouseCrowd of Slyck.com has offered to normalize these for me. When I get a chance, I'll post the results, though I have been extremely busy with school and a (very annoyed) newspaper. Oh well, I hope they can fogive me for the time being. In the mean time, ENJOY!!!

1st half of the Debate - I ask the candidates their views of Sony BMG (Clip of the larger file of 1st Half)(Right Click, Save Target As...) (4:56 - 4.52MB)

Prince george Political (Federal) Debate - Part 1 - Peace river (Right Click, Save Target As...) (1:29:37 - 41.0MB)

Prince George Political (Federal) Debate - Part 2 - Caribou Riding (Sorry about the mistake in the MP3 Info!!!) Complete (Right Click, Save Target as...) (1:36:20 - 44.1MB)

Later on in the second half of the debate, I ask individual candidates of their views of Sony BMG. I realise there is a host of other issues surrounding copyright, but I felt that I only had enough time to ask one question to all the candidates, so I scrambled for something that doesn't involve very much research at all and something that most candidates could understand and possibly answer the question intelligently (no offense!)

Unfortunately, my recorder didn't record the Action Party Candidates response, so I have contacted her for a response. This os what she had to say in an e-mailed response:

Hi Jeremy:

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Our party does not have a policy on this as yet, but we are opposed to all types of spyware, which is becoming more prevalent through Microsoft software etc. We oppose all types of monitoring, spying and tracking of people and their computers and are standing again the Modernization and Investigation Act that was brought before Parliament on November 15th of 2005 just one week before the election.

Guess which side your MP was on?

All the best

Bev Collins

This is all the juicy footage I have of the event. If you'd like to mirror these (as bandwidth seems to be a concern now for the Computer Science people should these files "Get very popular") please contact me through the usual resources. I also have higher bitrates as well as the raw Wave files. They are too big to host on my space, but if you are willing to host them as well, I'd REALLY appreciate it!
