Drew Wilson Killing it on ZeroPaid
It’s hard not to celebrate the fact that my news stories have been doing really well right now. Lately, my 5 Alternatives article completely distroyed my personal record of most views on a single article. Previously, I had a couple of articles hit around 50,000 views. That record is long gone now as I completely surpassed that and got about 75,000 views - 50% better than my previous record. Of course, that was helped by the fact that ZeroPaid has become a stronger site throughout the Summer. The average number of Diggs per story has been going through the roof, more people are reading ZeroPaid and the comments have been growing dramatically. This clearly helps someone such as myself break personal records for popular articles.
Of course, this new-found popularity hasn’t been going unnoticed. I’ve noticed users from TorrentFreak are livid over this and going all the way to ZeroPaid just to launch personal attacks - even to the point of taking up pro-copyright stances just to flame me. Not a way I would use resources personally as such things are counter-productive in my view, but such things are clearly not up to me to decide. I guess that’s the price you pay for being one of the most well-known file-sharing and tech reporter around. How am I reacting to that? With hilarity. I’ve offered an olive branch already through this blog, but it clearly wasn’t taken after the latest rounds of attacks. It’s hilarious to see this kind of reaction and know that somehow, there was some logical process that suggested that this would be an appropriate response. So, whatever, lol! Their loss for choosing to take an offensive rather than be productive.
Focusing on what I really do, I managed to get another exclusive for ZeroPaid. This one from the Pirate Party of Canada in response to the Green Party. I have to say, there was definitely some interesting comments that I got. I could get a sense of a sort of divide occurring because of some of the comments made by the Green Party, but at the same time, they don’t want to burn bridges still. There’s that cloud of how Canada is under the FPP system, but there’s a lot to be optimistic about the party which really is exciting to see.
