2,000 Diggs Later

On Digg alone, the count is currently at 1,920 Diggs. Looks like a lot of people liked my alternatives article.

Some of the commenters were a little left field (OMG!!! GIMME INVITE!!!!) but there was one theme (there were many themes to pick up on, but I’ll talk about one of them) that I thought I’d respond to. A number of people were commenting on how the alternatives I provided were not true alternatives. Funny thing was that I had already addressed that in my article by explicitly stating how nothing will really replace TPB. The irony of those comments came from other commenters who posted links to full-fledged private sites and labelling them as alternatives. It was interesting seeing all the other alternatives, but from what I saw, no one really agreed on any one site that would replace TPB.

This was precisely the reason that made making this list so difficult to make in the first place. What would really serve as good alternatives? My article was a success on another level because there was a lot of people agreeing to one site or another (every site I suggested got thumbs up from at elast a few people responding - some more than others) Yes, I listed some sites that merely indexed torrent files, but a number come from other public trackers. This is a good way to search out other sites for those who are use to TPB in general if your intent is to jump ship.

All-in-all, a tall order and I met it and, as a bonus, it’s the most popular article on the front page of ZeroPaid. Can’t complain one bit. :)

Update: It’s gone well over 2,000 Diggs now. :)
