The Centre is a student-directed non-profit organization that operates a space on the campus of the University of Northern British Columbia.  Our main focus is twofold:  to house information on women's issues as a service to the whole community, and to educate, particularly through free training programs, talks, workshops and special events.  Our educational mandate is focused on providing options and sharing strategies for women who seek to overcome barriers that they may face in the academic arena, in the workplace and at home.

Some of our activities,
past and present:

* maintain a library and resource files that are accessible to all women and men *  refer women in crisis to local organizations * mark commemorative events * develop assistance programs * house reading packages for university courses * hold speaker series and discussion forums * produce newsletters, radio shows and theatre productions * train volunteers * fundraise *
* host support groups * and much more.
