Over the years I have had to create software of various types, particularly aimed at doing experiments with specific apparatus. Some of this is made available here, free for use. If you find the software useful, please send me a note via email. If you feel compelled to pay for the software, I would request you send a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or your own national cancer society.

  1. Bullet  TurboMCS Controller (OS X): An application to interface with the EG&G Ortec TurboMCS (Multi-Channel Scaler) hardware via the serial port. Data can be viewed onscreen and saved in binary  or text files. This type of hardware is used for fast timing measurements of pulsed count sources, mainly in LIDAR or other time-of-flight applications. The current OS X version software should be considered as beta software (seems to work fine but not tested extensively). [Download]

  2. Bullet  TurboMCS Controller (Classic Mac OS): similar to above, but for Mac OS 7 through 9 (also works in the Classic environment of OS X through 10.4). More thoroughly tested than the OS X version above and suitable if you are using older computer hardware. [Download]

  1. Bullet  Omega CN3000 Temperature Controller: interface most aspects of the Omega Engineering CN3000 Temperature Controller via the serial port. [Download]

  2. Bullet  TurboMCS Multichannel Scaler: interface the TurboMCS via LabView serial commands rather than a monolithic applications such as above. [Download]

  3. Bullet  BNC 500 Pulse Generator: serial interfacing for some aspects of this Berkeley Nucleonics pulse generator [Download]

LabVIEW Virtual Instruments (VIs): a variety of LabVIEW applications for interfacing different hardware. I use LabVIEW on the Mac platform, but most VIs should work cross-platform.
