Our particular mission is to improve the health and health care of Canadians living in rural and remote areas of the country.

| Activities |
| We will: |
work with individuals, organizations and communities to create a national information and communication network concerning rural and remote health,
|
in consultation with other organizations and communities, promote policies and programs designed to achieve and sustain good health and health care in rural and remote areas,
|
empower people in rural and remote areas to identify problems in health and health care, and to find local, practical and sustainable solutions,
|
help coordinate, integrate and implement initiatives undertaken by diverse organizations and communities aimed at improving the health and health care of people in rural and remote areas,
|
advocate for individuals, organizations and communities sharing the Vision and Mission statements of the Canadian Rural and Remote Health Association,
|
help build the capacity of rural and remote communities to draw upon the experience, expertise and other resources that may be located at some distance from them,
|
support health-enhancing traditions and practices among the diverse cultural heritages making up the Canadian mosaic.
