The BC Chapter requires a Reception and Volunteer Coordinator with appropriate expertise, experience and passion to undertake a range of activities that encourage and engage citizens to become involved in, supportive of, and to volunteer with the Sierra Club's work to conserve our natural heritage. To hire immediately, a research assistant to help prepare BC communities Wildland Interface Fire Protection Plans.
Need research assistant with skills and knowledge at about a recent BSc level, of wildlife ecology, restoration, eco-systems, climate, biogeoclimatic mapping, data collection.
GPS experience useful. Good writing skills important.
Some office work now, and in August, field work around BC to contact and gather information in communities around the province, including First Nations communities, about urban - fire interface issues.

The Aleza Lake Research Forest Society is seeking a multi-talented, highly-motivated recent graduate to conduct diverse projects at the Research Forest. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g, history, geography, forestry) or a multidisciplinary degree, with appropriate experience. Recent graduates with an undergraduate degree and equivalent experience and plans to pursue graduate studies are also welcome. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have the demonstrated ability to work independently and have excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills. This position is partially funded by the Natural Resource Canada Internship Program.
