Sobre modelos matemáticos de rodal

Oscar García Vidal

Summary

Some concepts that may be useful for the study of forest stands through mathematical models are discussed. A set of examples to illustrate these ideas is included.

Application to stand models formulation of an approach based on the concept of dynamic system or multistage process, used specially by Control Theory, is described. This approach involves the specification of a state vector which describes the system at a given time, and the specification of a transition function which determines the changes of state. Furthermore, the need for multidimensional state vectors is pointed out.
